VCN -To help businesses and people cope with the Covid-19 pandemic, the General Department of Customs has actively listened to and shared the difficulties of enterprises to develop timely solutions.

VCN – Recently, the General Department of Customs has received proposals from competent authorities for considering tax policies on items which can or cannot be domestically produced to serve production and investment projects. In this regard, the General Department of Customs said these items have not been described in the current list of goods that can or cannot be domestically produced, causing difficulties for applying tax policies and time-consuming in exchange and application.

VCN - The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and many tax loosening policies have made Customs revenue in the first nine months of the year, especially from April to now, dramatically reduced. According to preliminary statistics, by the end of September 22, the Customs sector collected and remitted to the state budget more than VND 219,611 billion, reaching 64.97% of the estimate and 61.88% of the target, a year-on-year decline of 13.49%.

VCN - During the pandemic, import and export goods were stuck at the border, leading to administrative violations that businesses and management agencies did not expect. Accordingly, a number of provincial and municipal Customs Departments are facing problems and have reported to the General Department of Customs.

VCN - According to statistics, from April 1, 2016 to the end of June 30, 2020, the Customs sector received and handled 38,233 applications and administrative procedures under the pilot project on reforming the implementation of the single window mechanism and interlinked single window mechanism for handling administrative procedures applied by organizations, individuals and enterprises.

VCN - In the early days of July, amid the intense heat, we were at the Lang Son border. There are not scenes of smuggled goods on passenger cars, motorcycles and trucks on the roads as before. The border gates are covered by a quiet atmosphere.
