11 Customs Departments control risky subjects via international airport

In order to enhance the quality and effectiveness of risk control, General Department of Vietnam Customs requested the units to review and make lists of risky subjects that are entry and exit passengers in the area.
In addition, the International Airport Customs Branches and related units continue to intensify the collection and analysis of information and list risky subjects of entry and exit activities in the area; supervise and control closely the risk subjects; facilitating and not causing trouble for passengers on entry or exit.
By identifying the target subject, in 2017, the Risk Management Department (General Department of Vietnam Customs) sent the list of 43 risky subjects that regular enter and exit the country carrying a lot of luggage at the international airport. It usually occurs in major international airports: Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang and Cat Bi (Hai Phong).
In that, there are some subjects who enter the country 23 times in five-months (average 1.15 times per week), carrying 2 to 4 pieces of luggage each time, weighing between 50 and 90kg.
As a result, at Noi Bai International Airport, the Customs force discovered 6 subjects carrying goods in excess of duty-free standards. Among 9 cases of coordinated online supervision (at the international airport: Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat), there are 8 cases carrying goods in excess of the duty-free standard. The violated goods were found by Customs forces including: wines (3 cases), cigarettes (2 cases), pharmaceuticals, cosmetics (7 cases), garments and household articles.
