2 containers at Cat Lai port were discovered many illicit goods

Illicit goods were discovered in 2 containers.

On 5th May 2017, at Cat Lai port, Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern Anti-Smuggling Team under the Department of Anti-smuggling and Investigation, the General Department of Vietnam Customs in coordination with the Customs Branch of Saigon port, Zone 1 and the relevant authorities carried out physical inspections of two containers of transshipment which contained a lot of illicit goods and prohibited goods.

According to the leader of the Southern Anti-Smuggling Team, the above 2 containers were transshipped containers from Japan to Vietnam through Cambodia. However, when the shipment arrived at Cat Lai port, the Southern Anti-Smuggling Team found suspicious signs; therefore, Customs officers executed physical inspections of the shipment.

The results of the first detection showed that 2 containers included a lot of goods such as used motorcycles, office equipment and amplifiers.
