31 imported cars subject to gifts or donations shall be investigated

Previously, the General Department of Vietnam Customs was requested by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance to verify the case.

Related to the enterprises' illegal import cars as gifts or donations in Da Nang, in the previous time, the General Department of Taxation requested the Tax Department of Da Nang City to promptly apply strict measures with the enterprises importing cars as gifts or donations.

The Tax Department of Da Nang reported to the National Steering Committee 389 on the situation of some persons that took advantage of policies allowing to import cars as gifts or donations for tax fraud and evasion.

As reported by the Department, the majority of imported cars as gifts of donations in Danang had high value, but when they were sold, their value shown in the invoice was very low, only from 50 to 60% of original price and was not suitable with the market price.

In order to promptly prevent the tax fraud and evasion, the General Department of Taxation requested the Tax Department of Da Nang to strictly abide by the regulations on the management of collection for Special Consumption Tax at the stage of domestic consumption, and Corporate Income Tax and Value Added Tax for local enterprises importing cars under this form.
