The figure was revealed by Deputy General Auditor of Vietnam Doan Xuan Tien during a meeting on July 18 of the Steering Committee tasked with organising the assembly.

Tien said the organising board has approved a list of guests for the event, including 76 foreign and 128 domestic delegations.

One of the event’s highlights will be the seventh thematic conference on environmental audit for sustainable development, reflecting ASOSAI’s commitments to dealing with global environment challenges and pursuing common sustainable development goals in particular.

The Hanoi Declaration will also be issued at the end of the event, reviewing the most important working results and highlighting ASOSAI’s commitments to development goals for the 2016-2021 period.

Established in 1979 with 11 members, ASOSAI now has a total of 46 SAIs. The State Audit Office of Vietnam became an ASOSAI member in 1997.

The ASOSAI Assembly is held every three years.
