On 19/9, the head of the Customs Enforcement Unit (Cao Bang Customs Department) said that the case was chaired by the unit, coordinated with the Anti-Drug and Criminal Investigation Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) Anti-Drug and Criminal Investigation Police Division (Cao Bang Police), Quang Uyen District Police (Cao Bang) to close the case.

Earlier, at 6:30 PM on 16/9, in Lung Ỏ village, Quang Uyen district, competent forces caught Do Phuong Thanh (was born in 1985, lives in Hong Thai town Quang Uyen district) while she was carrying a carton containing 10 bars of heroin, weighing more than 3.5 kg.

At the same time, at Group 32, Hop Giang Ward (City), the Customs Enforcement Unit coordinated with competent forces and caught Le Minh Hai (was born in 1981, lives in group 6, Quyet Tam Ward , Son La city, Son La province) and seized 23 tablets of synthetic narcotics.

According to Do Phuong Thanh and Le Minh Hai’s confessions, the two subjects knew each other, and colluded to buy the above mentioned heroin from Son La, for transporting to Cao Bang. The subjects and material evidences will be handed over to the police offices for further investigation and handling in accordance with regulations.

The head of the customs enforcement unit added that the case was the largest drug seizure carried out by the customs authorities in Cao Bang since the beginning of 2018.
