Coast guard seized a ship transporting 50 tons of nitrogenous fertilizer

VCN – Nearly 50 tons of nitrogenous fertilizer that was being transporting illegally on the sea has been seized by Coast guards in the sea area of Hai Phong

On the morning of 28/5, during the patrol, the working group of Coast Guard detected a cargo ship with suspicious signs. The working group approached, checked and discovered the two crew members, and Nguyen Tien Thinh (36 years old and lives in Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh) as captain.

At the time of the inspection, captain Thinh declared that the ship was not registered and had no code, neither of the crew could produce a professional certificate. The ship transported nearly 50 tons of nitrogenous fertilizer. All the above goods have no invoices and documents proving legal origin. According to Thinh, the amount of nitrogenous fertilizer on board was received at the area of Chanh river bridge (Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province) and transported to Bach Dang river mouth (Hai Phong) then it was stopped for inspection by competent forces.

Currently, the Coast Guard is continuing to investigate, verify for clarification and handling in accordance with regulations.
