The morning of February 2 saw major Laotian newspapers, including Pasason, Pathet Lao, Kongthap, and the Vientiane Times, run an array of articles featuring the success of the 13th National Congress of the CPV, in addition to stating their belief that the nation will continue to record greater achievements in the future.

Kongthap newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Lao People's Army, published the full text of a message of congratulations send by Lao Party General Secretary and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith to the recently re-elected Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong.

The newspaper also put an editorial on its front page congratulating the country for the success of the 13th National Party Congress, whilst noting their great appreciation for the history of the Vietnamese revolution for the cause of national construction and defence, especially since the Doi Moi (Renewal) process in 1986.

Over the past 35 years, the entire Party, the army, and all Vietnamese citizens have recorded tremendous achievements in ensuring political stability, boosting socio-economic development, and increasing both national security and national defence. With the policy of multilateralisation and persification of foreign relations, the nation’s position has been constantly strengthened both regionally and globally, the article said.

At present the global situation still features many unpredictable hidden factors of great complexity, coupled with the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, through the clear-sighted leadership of the CPV and the spirit of solidarity and self-reliance of a united people, the country will surely record many more great achievements moving forward.

Furthermore, the Laotian newspaper Pathet, the print edition of the Lao News Agency, published a biography of re-elected Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, whilst posting an article on the success of the National Party Congresses of both Vietnam and Laos. Indeed, the outlet stated that they will make an important contribution to regional stability and development.

The article included a thorough review of the history of formation and close-knit relations the between the CPV and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP). Most notably, the bond of solidarity and mutual help between the two Parties, the two states, and the people of the two countries have brought about many great benefits. This can be viewed as a precious legacy for the people, especially the young generation of the two countries who must strive to continue to preserve and promote mutual ties in the future.

Elsehwere, some newspapers in the Middle East also published articles reflecting on the success of the Party Congress

The Egyptian newspaper "Constitution" (Dostor) published an article on February 1 about the closing ceremony of the 13th National Congress of the CPV, noting their commitment to combat corruption.

The article reviewed some of the results recorded in the nation’s fight against corruption during the 2016 to 2020 tenure, whilst quoting the contents of General Secretary Trong's speech given at a press conference following the conclusion of the event. This speech affirmed that the 13th CPV Congress was a great success and that the CPV will go ahead and continue the fight against corruption in the near future.

On the same day, Egyptian newspaper "Day 7" (youm7) also featured an article about Vietnamese determination to develop toward becoming a regional manufacturing hub for major technology companies.

The article outlines how the country is making every effort to limit the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, while simultaneously reviving the national economy over the next five years by effectively utilising free trade agreements (FTAs). The article emphasises that the 13th CPV Congress approved a five-year economic development strategy from 2021 to 2025, with the primary goal of achieving annual economic growth of between 6.5% to 7.0%.

This comes after both African News Portal website Afrigatenews and newswire "The People's Road" (tareeqashaab) of the Iraqi Communist Party also run articles highlighting the success of the 13th CPV Congress.
