According to the General Department of Customs, the last months of 2015 and early 2016, smuggling, illegal transportation of cargo on air route was quite diverse, with new methods, sophisticated illegal operations. The area of ​​operation of crime groups is mainly regional international airports: Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat and Da Nang; Immigration procedures area, airfields, import and export goods procedures point, TCS warehouse and cargo inspection.

Through processing, Customs forces seized 15 military rifles; 1 shotgun; 1,000 rounds of ammunition; 1 binoculars; 181 pieces of military equipments; 4 daggers; 2,029 grams of heroin; 2,58kg crystal meth; 3,64 kgs of marijuana; 1.84 kg of cocaine; 372.7 kg and 105 pieces of ivory.

Typically, on 29-3, Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department (Customs Department) found and seized 238 kg of ivory and 248 kg of pangolin scales from abroad to Vietnam via Noi Bai International Airport.

Earlier, on 4-2, Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch (HCM City Customs Department) inspected the imported consignments sent from Sao Paulo, Brazil, seized 1.84 kg of cocaine.

For some last months of 2016, the General Department of Customs has completed its system of documents related to customs control; boosting up works for collecting information, monitor real situation at the local, direct the team, release warnings on time, as well as providing guidance for better customs control to the entire sector.
