Customs detected and handled notable offences in August

On July 28, HCM City Customs Department fined Que Thanh Co., Ltd., District 6, HCM City for false declaration of HS code, leading to a missing tax amount of cleared goods stated in four customs declarations.
The infringing goods included ceramic worship items worth about VND4 billion, with a total missing tax amount of over VND663 million and fine of VND133 million.
On August 1, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch (Quang Tri Customs Department) inspected a passenger car with License Plate 4429 driven by Mr. T.C.M. Through inspection by the HI-SCAN baggage scanner and other specialized equipment, the branch detected eight bricks of heroin hidden inside a box of car dryer blower with the address of the recipient in HCM city. The branch coordinated with the Police, Border Guard to arrest the perpetrator and other suspects.
On August 2, the law enforcement forces discovered Ngo Quoc Hung who was receiving the box. The forces also detected Nguyen Hoang Tung who hoarded 2kg of synthetic drugs.
The Customs Enforcement Team under Hai Phong Customs Department also seized a consignment of household appliances imported by Hoang Mai Vietnam Trading Joint Stock Company.
The company falsely declared the size, origin, quantity, brand, materials and manufacture of products. The Customs detected 59,600 BLUMK hinges used for steel doors that are fake products.
The value of infringing goods was VND267 million. On August 12, Hai Phong Customs Department transferred the case to the Police.
As of August, the Customs handled 10,700 violations with the infriging goods worth VND4,168 billion, collected VND241.240 billion, procecuted 31 cases and transffered 83 cases to other competent agencies. |
