The determination of the method and level of customs inspection for imported shipments declared as alloy steel containing boron is based on risk management.
Customs shall base on the results of channel classification on the e-customs data processing system to inspect according to the provisions of the Customs Law and guiding documents.
Regarding this issue, the General Department of Vietnam Customs said the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Vietnam Customs have issued documents to direct the inspection and control of imported shipments declared as alloy steel containing boron.
The implementation measures have controlled the import of this commodity. However the review and assessment of the implementation have shown these measures stipulated in these documents are not in line with current Customs management
Therefore, the new guidance of the General Department of Vietnam Customs not only meets the actual situation of managing this commodity but also improves the ranking of cross-border trade transaction index under Resolution 02/NQ-CP on January 1, 2019 of the Government on improving the business environment, improving national competitiveness in 2019 and orientation to 2021.
