Speaking at the opening of the training session, Director of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department Nguyen Phi Hung said that the effective inspection and control of alcohol imports would contribute to preventing losses of State budget revenue and combating production and consumption of fake or smuggled alcohol. The training session on control and identification of authentic imported alcohol was organized by the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department in collaboration with Pernod Ricard Vietnam Co., Ltd. on June 12, in Hanoi.

Therefore, the customs authorities, including the anti-smuggling enforcement force play a great role in customs inspection, supervision and control of imports and exports and consumption of authentic alcohol in the Vietnamese market.

Vietnam Customs has cooperated closely with Pernod Ricard Vietnam Co., Ltd. in inspecting, supervising and controlling the alcohol brands imported and consumed by the Company in Vietnamese market.

This activity has contributed to making alcohol imports by Pernod Ricard Vietnam Co., Ltd. comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law and protecting consumers’ health.

Recently, Vietnam Customs and Market Surveillance forces have made great efforts and witnessed many achievements in the fight against fake goods.

Mr. Patrick Castanier hoped that through the training session, the Company will introduce a completely new technology to identify authentic goods distributed by the company in Vietnam, such as how to identify authentic imported alcohol using smart phones, thereby ensuring that the products distributed by the Company are used appropriately and are good for health.

The training aims to improve the ability of customs officers in fighting fraudulent imports of alcohol by introducing the system to identify and authenticate genuine PUMA imported alcohol.
