Customs seizes more than half of hundredweight of firecrackers at Binh Phuoc border

Exhibits of more than 50kg of firecrackers seized by Customs Enforcement Unit (Binh Phuoc Customs Department) in coordination with Border Defence and Police forces on December 8th.

The case was discovered on December 8 when the Customs Enforcement Team received information that a subject was driving car with sign of transporting smuggled firecrackers in the border area of Bu Dop district. Therefore, the unit worked with the Border Defence force and Police force to plan a seizure.

At the area of 759 road, hamlet 4, Thanh Hoa ward, Bu Dop District, Binh Phuoc province, the working group discovered a subject driving a Toyota Camry Car with license plate 93A-15280 as reported. Thus, the working group signalled to stop the car and request an inspection. While conducting inspection procedures, the subject fled and left behind the exhibits which were suspected as firecrackers inside the car’s trunk. Competent forces conducted a detail inspection and discovered more than 50kg of firecrackers of all kinds.

Binh Phuoc Customs Department directed the units to implement professional measures, strengthen the fight against smuggling and illegal transport of goods across the border and the transport of prohibited goods with key products including firecrackers.
