Deputy Prime Minister directs the handling the responsibility for "missing" 213 transit containers

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Finance to direct the General Department of Vietnam Customs to work closely with the Investigation Agency - Ministry of Public Security, to provide dossiers and documents for clarifying violation acts of the subject that related to the case of 213 cargo containers in transit; To organize the review and handling of responsibilities of related organizations and individuals strictly in accordance with law.
At the same time, to propose amendments promptly and supplements to the regulations on supervision of transited goods, temporary import and re-export goods, transshipment goods, and goods in transit in order to ensure the goods are not dismantled, dispersed and hide or smuggled on the route. Those agencies should report to the Prime Minister the results before 1st December 2017.
Earlier, the General Department of Vietnam Customs discovered in the middle year of 2015, there are 213 containers of 56 enterprises transited through Cat Lai port - Ho Chi Minh City (place of departure) for transshipment by road, then exported to Cambodia (place of destination), however, the above containers were transported from the port of Cat Lai by enterprises but it did not arrive at border gate in accordance with regulations.
