Detecting a case of airguns transportation via Noi Bai International Airport

The case was discovered at about 11 am, on 20/2/2017, Entry Luggage Customs Procedure Team of Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch detected inside the luggage of Nguyen Van Hung, born in 1991, lived in Som Kim 2, Huong Son, Ha Tinh, went on flights SU 290 Aeroflot from Russia to Noi Bai, Hanoi, at 8 am on 20/2/2017, had suspicious signs during the procedure.
The unit collaborated with the Customs Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department), Team 1 (Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department-General Department of Customs and the Department of Crime Prevention of Smuggling (C74) to conduct physical inspection of the luggage of Nguyen Van Hung. As a result, they discovered 4 airguns, including 2 Edgun Leshi type, 1 gun was Ataman AP16, 1 gun was Colibbry No.1209, and along with some components, spare parts of airguns, made in Czech and 91 boxes of bullets with thousands of bullets.
At the time of inspection, Nguyen Van Hung did not present any legal documents for carrying of the above shipment.
According to a police officer of the Department of Crime Prevention of Smuggling (C74): The above guns are airguns but are highly dangerous. These guns are like modern automatic colt rifles. Shot at the range within 50m may cause serious damage.
Currently, the Customs force has temporary seized the entire violation exhibits. The case is still being processed.
