100 bars of cocaine that were hidden in scrap container were discovered at Cai Mep port

According to information from Cai Mep port Customs Branch, the cargo container that was inspected is one of 17 steel scrap containers of Pomina 2 Steel Company (headquartered in Phu My 1 Industrial Zone, Phu My town, BR-VT province) which had just arrived at Cai Mep port at 3:00 pm on 24/7. The information of imported goods on the e-manifest declaration is steel scrap.

Sacks containing cocaine were hidden among scrap goods

Through information collection and researching for grasping the situation, e-manifest analysis, after detecting suspicious signs, the Customs Enforcement Unit requested to inspect the material evidence and means of transport.

The inspection force conducted quick testing by drug test suitcase

After that, competent forces discovered in the container 4 sacks, each bag was of black plastic nylon. Inside them were four black plastic bags containing a total of 100 bars of white powder cake.

The testing results showed it was 100 bars of cocaine with a total weight of 100 kg.

The Customs Enforcement Unit has cooperated with Cai Mep port Customs Branch to make the report and coordinated with PC47, BR-VT provincial police to investigate the case.
