Dong Thap Customs Department said receiving information that someone used a motorbike to carry smuggled foreign cigarettes from the border to An Thinh hamlet, An Binh A ward, Hong Ngu city, the Customs Enforcement Team coordinated with An Binh A ward police to patrol and control the road along the Tien River from Muong Lon ferry to Bai Cham church.

When the team reached the Holy Land cemetery, it seized 1,000 packages of contraband foreign cigarettes (500 packages of JET brand and 500 packages of HERO brand) from an unknown manufacturing country.

All of these cigarettes were transported by a driver from the border to the above area to hand over to another person, when detecting the patrol team, the man dropped the goods and drove to Highway 30 to escape.

On February 20, 2022, the Customs Enforcement Team coordinated with the Phu Thuan B Commune Police to handle two smuggling cases of foreign cigarettes, which amounted to more than 2,300 packages.

These cigarettes were transported by motorbike from the border inland for consumption and delivered to the area of ​​Phu Loi B hamlet, Phu Thuan B commune, Hong Ngu district. Detecting the Customs forces, the driver left the goods and ran away.

On February 7, 2022, the control team consisting of the So Thuong Border Gate Customs Operations Team under the Thuong Phuoc Border Gate Customs Branch and the Police of Thuong Lac Commune, Hong Ngu District, Dong Thap Province patrolled the area of Tra Du hamlet, Thuong Lac commune, Hong Ngu district and discovered and seized 1,420 packages of foreign cigarettes of all kinds.
