"There has been a change in the ranking of Vietnamese agricultural products exported to China instead of traditional ones such as vegetables and fruits with the largest proportion of exports in this market," a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development added.

Japan and Korea took third and the fourth with an export value of nearly US$586 million and about US$376 million, respectively.

In terms of international cooperation and market development, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has continued to coordinate to promote the opening of agricultural markets with Peru, Australia, Brazil, China, the United States, and ASEAN, Russia, Czech Republic; organized Vietnam Agricultural Products Week at EXPO 2022 Dubai and worked with a number of bilateral partners with India, Argentina and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also held talks with the EU Executive Vice President's delegation to promote cooperation in the field of climate change and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; proposed solutions and petitioned the EU to remove the "yellow card" for Vietnam's seafood industry.

Accordingly, up to now, 1,763 product codes have been granted to Vietnamese enterprises by the General Administration of Customs of China.
