The complicated and unpredictable development of the Covid-19 pandemic in July has hit import and export operations.
Some companies have taken advantage of the Government’s incentive polices and mechanisms for production and business, trade, services, imports and exports to commit violations.
Notably, through customs inspection, the Customs issued a plan to investigate the 50 containers imported by A.C Company.
In addition, the illegal trafficking and transportation of drugs increased compared to the previous month.
Authorities detected many case of drug transportation by air or via postal services.
The drug trafficking across border gates of Dien Bien, Nghe An, Tay Ninh provinces to Vietnam is still a problem, with sophisticated tricks and a large quantity of smugglers.
The GDVC issued a dispatch warning of methods and tricks of smugglers and requesting strengthening of drug control; and announced eight "new drug" substances discovered for the first time in Vietnam to local customs departments.
In July, the Customs sector handled a total of 1,217 violations, infringing goods valuated at over VND99 billion; and collected over VND23 billion.
Customs authorities prosecuted three cases and transferred four cases to other agencies for prosecution.
