This volume will not stop when the Lunar New Year 2018 is approaching. Typically, on 14 September 2017, on National Road 279 in Ha Ha commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province, Ba Be district, the traffic police detected a truck number plate 20C-093.19,moving from Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province to Thai Nguyen province, transporting 83 barrels of fireworks tubes (with a weight of 2,216 kg), 7 barrels of firecrackers (with a weight of 119 kg), totalling up to 2,415 kg.

On October 14, the police in Van Lang district, Lang Son province arrested Hoang Van Luong, who was born in 1980 in Ninh Lac commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, carrying 37 kg of firecrackers in Coc Nam border area(Van Lang district). On 17 October 2017, through the control, Lang Son police discovered two perpetratorscarrying 14.5 kg of firecrackers in the northern bus station (Cao Loc district).

And only three days later, (20 October 2017), while on patrol duty at the border gate, the Anti-Smuggling Team together with the Supervision Team of the Coc Nam Customs Branch, Lang Son Customs detected a derelict shipment of 30 packages of goods at Thang Long Export-Import Goods yard under Coc Nam border gate. Through the physical inspection, the 30 packages above was fireworks with1 cm diameter, 20cm long, wrapped in yellow paper and labeled with Birthday Candle with a total weight of 1 ton.

Recently, on 10 November 2017, Bờ Y International Border Guard Station arrested 4 people with 145 kg of firecrackers which was transporting illegally from Laos to Vietnam.

As considered by Lang Son Steering Committee 389, when the Lunar New Year is approaching, the trafficking and illegal transport of firecrackers through the border is hot day by day in large volume. Only data from the Lang Son public security showed that from the beginning of this year up to now, this unit has arrested 134 cases, 173 traders, smuggling cases of over 6 tons of fireworks of all type. By the end of 2017, Lang Son police continues to focus on providing effective measures to prevent fireworks smuggling.

According to the Steering Committee of 389 key provinces on smuggling in northern border areas such as Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai ..., this year, the sale and transportation of firecrackers in localities took place earlier Last year and over time, this activity is increasingly tending to increase. In addition, the volume of smuggled cannons in each case smuggled by organizations smuggled across the border into Vietnam is increasing, despite the provisions of law. The hot spot for the sale of firecrackers is in the northern provinces, bordering on the Vietnam-China border. Do not stay in China

According to the Steering Committee 389, this year, the firecrackers smuggling in the key provinces such as Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai takes place earlier than last year and is increasing more and more. In addition, the volume of smuggled fireworks across the border to Vietnam is large and large regardless of the provisions of law. The hot area for the firecracker trafficking is in the northern provinces, bordering on the Vietnam-China border. Because, fireworks are not prohibited in China and sold publically in the markets and supermarkets, many traders set up a chain to buy and transport this prohibited goods to Vietnam.

The perpetrators transporting smuggled fireworks across borders are mainly porters. They carried the fireworks across the trails and pathways on the two sides of the border gate. The perpetrators took advantages of the large movement of goods at the border gates to hide smuggled fireworks in goods and luggage to deceive the competent forces to transport to Vietnam for consumption.

Actually, Lang Son borderline for many years is always the hot spot of firecrackers smuggling, especially the end of the year. A representative of Lang Son Customs Department said that the unit has implemented the plan and guided the units to carry out the fight against crime on the border. Particularly, developing a force to control and supervise strictly and collaborating with the competent forces to fight against smuggling and illegal transport of goods through borders, including firecrackers smuggling.
