Hai Phong Customs: Car import turnover declines

VCN- The total import and export turnover of goods in November at Hai Phong Customs Department reached US$7.094 billion, up 8.4 percent compared to 2018, but down 7 percent compared to October. Notably, car import turnover tended to decrease.

According to Hai Phong Customs Department, in November, the export turnover value reached US$3.405 billion, up 28.2 percent compared to 2018 and down 7.6 percent compared to October. Of which, taxable export turnover reached US$9.8 million, down 0.5 percent compared to 2018 and 21.9 percent compared to October.

Import turnover reached US$3.689 million, down 5.1 percent compared to 2018 and 6.5 percent compared to October. Of which, taxable import turnover reached US$1.574 billion, down 12.2 percent compared to 2018 and down 2 percent compared to October.

Notably, turnover of some major commodities with high revenue such as automobiles, motorcycles, beer and alcohol, cosmetics, petroleum products deceased compared to 2018.

Specifically, automobiles reached US$105.07 million, down 41.4 percent; beer and alcohol reached US$1.79 million, down 39.9 percent; cosmetics reached US$0.21 million, down 37.7 percent; motorcycles reached US$0.86 million, down 104.1 percent; petroleum product reached US$66.06 million, down 13.3%.

In addition to the sharp decrease, in November, import turnover of commodity groups in Hai Phong Customs still maintained growth momentum.

Import turnover of auto spare parts reached US$18.95 million, up 7.6 percent; motorbike spare parts reached US$1.29 million, up 5.4 percent; iron and steel reached US$240.57 million, up 5.3%; machinery and equipment reached US$1,386.23 million, up 9.7%.

In November, Hai Phong Customs Department processedprocedures for 156,544 declarations. Of which, there were 91,876 import declarations and 64,668 export declarations.

The Investment and Processing Customs Branch processed 36,781 declarations, while the Hai Phong Seaport Customs Branch of Zone 2 processed 4,046 declarations.

By the end of November, the total import and export turnover in the first 11 months at Hai Phong Customs reached US$72,826 billion. Of which, the export turnover reached US$32.91 billion, taxable export turnover was US$137 million;import turnover reached US$39,916 billion and taxable import turnover was US$ 17,546 billion.
