Implementing Decision No.41/QD-KPTVTDV dated May 22, 2019 issued by the Head of the Hai Phong Customs Enforcement Team, the Team inspected the first shipment packed in container No. FSCU897415 under Bill of Lading No.120910032349 and transported on Lantau Bee Vessel arriving at Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port on April 17, 2019.

On the transport document, the consignor is Pig Trading Co., Ltd 3370014 Saitana Ken Saitana Shi Minuma Ku Oaza Oya 1687-1 Tel 048-812-7268; the consignee and notification receiver is Van Don International Cargo Service Company Limited, No 8, Lane 16/20, Do Xuan Hop, My Dinh 1, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi.

The second shipmentwas packed in container No. RFCU5126698, under Bill of lading No.120910026249 and transported on Marcarrier Vessel arriving at Dinh Vu Port on March 31, 2019.

On the transport document, the consignor is Pig Trading Co., Ltd; the consignee and notification receiver is Tancate Logistics Co., Ltd, No. 8/89 Le Duc Tho, My Dinh 2, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi.

T.S.Lines is the shipping lines of these shipments transported from Yokohama port, Japan to Hai Phong Port to deliver to the consignee in Vietnam.

On April 8, 2019, the shipping line received Official Letter No. 20 /TC-TCNH of Logistics Tancate Co., Ltd. refusing to receive the shipment with the reason that the company did not transact and sign a sale contract for this shipment.

On April 10, 2019, the shipping line received the designation of the consignor requesting to deliver to the new consignee that is Van Don International Cargo Services Co., Ltd.

The T.S. Lines sent a notice to Van Don International Cargo Services Co., Ltd., but the company did not come to receive goods.

On May 16 and 24, T.S.Linesreceived Official Letter No. 03/CT-TCNH and 07/VD-TCNH of Van Don International Cargo Services Co., Ltdrefusing to receive goods with the reason that the company did not transact and sign the sale contracts for the two shipments.

The inspection and verification results showed that these shipments were used household appliances including gas and induction stoves, electric cookers, pressure cookers, indoor and outdoor units of air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, washing machines, dehumidifiers and air purifiers on the List of goods banned from import stipulated in the Government’s Decree 69/2018 / ND-CP dated May 15, 2018.

Based on the results of inspection, verification and the current dossier of the case, on August 20, 2019, Director of Hai Phong Customs Department signed Decision No. 1806/QD-HQHP to implement criminal prosecution for the illegal cross-border transportation of goods at Hai Phong port on May 23, 2019 and on June 21, 2019 for these cases.
