Hanoi Tax Department: Try to complete dossier of tax relief and cancellation before July 1st

Resolution No.94/2019/QH14 on tax relief and cancellation of late payment fines and interest for insolvent taxpayers is valid from July 1st, 2020.

The Hanoi Tax Department is one of the units with a large amount of tax debt in the country. Therefore, the unit is concentrating on the work of handling issues related to Resolution No.94.

To ensure autonomy when debt settlement resolution takes effect, and at the same time, implementation of the debt settlement resolution in the locality is accurate and complies with regulations, on schedule and objectives as planned, on May 7, 2020, the Hanoi Tax Department issued Official Letter No. 31165/CT-QLN requesting divisions and tax departments urgently review and consolidate tax relief and cancellation of late payment fine, late payment of taxpayers that can not recover to be able to immediately freeze and cancel debt when the resolution takes effect.

According to Nguyen Tien Truong, Deputy Director of Hanoi Tax Department, the Tax Department has requested units to continue researching and commenting via email, the Debt Collection and Enforcement Department would chair to gather opinions for participating with the General Department of Taxation, the Ministry of Finance on the draft Circular specifying dossier and order, procedures for handling debts under Resolution No. 94.

At the same time, leaders of the Hanoi Tax Department requested divisions and tax departments to coordinate in verifying information related to taxpayers' obligations, and must complete debts relief dossier and debts cancellation before July 1, 2020.

Resolution No. 94/2019/QH14 on tax relief and cancellation of late payment fines and interest for insolvent taxpayers will be implemented within the time limit of three years from the effective date.
