HCMC Customs discovers over 600 cases of violation

According to HCMC Customs Department, from the beginning of the year until now, the units have implemented well the plan of anti-smuggling and commercial fraud; key project, key area, business and product items, checked inventory from 30 days to 90 days,… hence they have detected and seized many cases of violation such as import prohibited goods, poor quality goods, declare incorrectly quantity and name of goods for tax evasion.

Notably, customs authorities at border gate have detected many violations with sophisticated hiding methods.

In the first five months of 2017, the HCMC Customs Department discovered and recorded violations for over 600 cases, valued at over 56.8 billion vnd. In that, there are nearly 100 cases of smuggling and trade frauds. The HCMC Customs Department has prosecuted 9 cases of violation, transferred to the police for investigation and processing.

Notably, in recent times, the HCMC Customs Department discovered many cases of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods in the form of transit goods, port transhipment and border transhipment.
