According to the HCMC Department of Taxation, in the first eight months of 2018, the total number of dossiers for tax refund was1,575 dossiers, with the total amount already paid to the taxpayers of VND 8,269 billion, down 33.90% over the same period.

The value-added tax refund by electronic method reached 830 dossiers with the refunded amount of VND 3.751 billion.

Of which, the refunded tax amount for export accounted for 88.71% of the total refunded tax amount; the refunded tax amount from investment and purchase of fixed assets accounted for 10.34% of the total refunded amount; the refunded tax amount from petrol accounted for 0.47% of the total refunded amount, and others represented 0.48% of the total refunded amount

Currently, the number of enterprises registering their accounts for electronic tax payment was 96.79% compared to the number of enterprises in operation (over 220,000 enterprises). The number of vouchers subject to electronic tax payment reached 84.88% of the total number of vouchers transmitted to the Treasury.

Along with that, the number of enterprises making e-tax declaration via internet reached 99.99% of the total number of enterprises in operation.
