HCMC request to supervise strictly transit and transhipment goods

Vice Chairman of People's Committee cum Head of Steering Committee 389 (anti-smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeit goods) of Ho Chi Minh city – Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen has requested departments and branches that are members of the Steering Committee 389 of HCMC and People's Committee in each district to strengthen control and fight against smuggling from taking advantage of transit policy and transhipment goods.

Accordingly, the HCMC Customs Department is assigned to strengthen inspection, strictly control shipments in transit, transshipment right from the import stage till completely export. For the shipments have signs of violation, it must be inspected and strictly handled in accordance with provisions of law.

HCM City police are assigned to intensify reconnaissance duty to grasp the situation and identify traders, lines, the den of smugglers, complex locations. From that, setting up the plan for fighting, should not let the situation of drawing from the center, exchanging fraudulently and dispersing and hidden took place. HCM City police actively coordinate with the Customs forces, Border Guards, Market Management to prevent smuggled goods brought into Ho Chi Minh City.

Moreover, Head of the Steering Committee 389 of Ho Chi Minh City – Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen directed the Border Defense Force Command of Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen patrol and control to timely prevent, detect and handle the act of storing and transporting all kind of smuggled goods. At the same time, closely coordinating with Customs, police and market management forces in order to prevent, detect, investigate and handle smuggling activities.

For the domestic market, HCMC Market Management Department is required to intensify inspection and control of the retail markets, retailers, stores, and warehouses for storing banned goods and used goods, strictly handling violations in accordance with regulations.

In addition, Mr. Tuyen also requested People's Committees in the districts to direct the competent forces to proactively inspect and control in the area in order to prevent the gathering, storage, consumption of prohibited import goods or conditional import goods that have been used put to trade in their localities.
