Illegal transportation of nearly 10 tons of old cell-phone batteries and old computers

On 13/4, according to the information source of Customs News, the shipment was opened by the enterprise at the Dinh Vu Port Customs Branch, under the business type of temporary import and re-export. According to business’s declaration, the temporarily imported goods were new LCD TV.
However, according to the inspection results of the Customs authority, the imported goods were used electronic items that were in the list of suspension for temporary import and re-export business.
Recently, the Customs authority has issued a decision to penalize the enterprise in the name of carrying out Customs procedures with two violations that are: Incorrect declaration for type and quantity of temporarily imported goods under the subject for tax exemption; The second violation is that the imported goods are on the list of suspension for temporary import and re-export business. The total amount of fines for administrative violations is more than 121 million vnd. At the same time, the enterprise is forced to execute additional penalties for re-exporting infringing goods from the Vietnamese territory.
Moreover, according to the information source of the Customs Newspaper, the infringing goods were including 9.906 tons (including packaging) of cell phone batteries, computer batteries of all kinds; 384 LCD television screen have been used; 2,493 computer hard drives; 43 CPUs of the server, etc.
