Import & export reaches $361.5 billion, trade surplus continues hitting new record

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first half of September (September 1-15), export turnover of the whole country reached over $12.6 billion. Thereby bringing the total turnover from the beginning of the year to September 15 to approximately $188 billion.

In the first 15 days of the month, there were four groups of exported goods with a turnover of $1 billion or more.

Leading was phones and accessories with a turnover of nearly $2.33 billion, thereby bringing the total turnover from the beginning of the year to $33.9 billion, as the largest export commodity group.

The remaining groups of "billion USD" are computers, electronic products and components with nearly $2.2 billion (accumulated from the beginning of the year reached $29.9 billion); textiles and garments at nearly $1.37 billion (accumulated from the beginning of the year reached $20.63 billion); machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached nearly $1.22 billion (accumulated from the beginning of the year reached $16.6 billion).

In the first 15 days of September, the data of General Department of Vietnam Customs recorded an import turnover of nearly $11.7 billion, bringing the total turnover from the beginning of the year to September 15 to $173.5 billion.

Notably, in the first half of August, the import turnover of computers, electronic products and components reached more than $3 billion and brought the total turnover from the beginning of the year to more than $41.8 billion and continues to be the largest import commodity group of Vietnam.

Besides that, in the first half of September, there is a group of goods with a turnover of "billion USD", which us machinery, equipment and spare parts with a turnover of $1.66 billion. In general, since the beginning of the year, it has reached nearly $24.7 billion.

Thus, from the beginning of the year to September 15, the total import-export turnover of the country reached $361.5 billion.

Notably, Vietnam continued to hit a record trade surplus of $14.5 billion, an increase of nearly $1 billion compared to the end of August.
