Opening with large orders

After the Lunar New Year holiday, production activities went into orbit. Most enterprises also quickly started to produce to promptly delivery for signed orders sincethe beginning of the year.

Talking to reporters from Customs News, Ms. Can Thi Thu Ha, Director of ThangNho Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (an enterprise in constructing and manufacturing wooden furniture), said that from the beginning of January, ThangNho negotiated and signed a number of contracts, ensuring business stability foruntil the end of July.

From the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, they mobilized their workers to produce orders immediately after Tet.

Regarding the value of orders, Ms. Ha said that for orders signed from the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, the value did not increase, but they still accepted contracts to keep jobs for employeesas well as guarantee the business turnover of the company.

Earlier, on the night of the 30th day of theLunar New Year, Saigon Tan Cang Corporation also issued an order to make goods for the new spring of 2020. The first container was the export shipment of Saigon Food Company, which was transported from Tan Cang - Cat Lai portto PortKelang (Malaysia). In addition,on the vessel, there were goods frommore than 139 export and import enterprises inHo Chi Minh City, mainlyagricultural and garment products, which would go to ports such as Hong Kong, Taiwan (China) and Japan to clear the shipments in the first days.

According to the representative of Nam Duong Investment and Construction Co., Ltd., in 2020 the company started many production orders with stable values, with five orders signed until the end of April 2020, the revenue of the company had also achieved 30% of the target for the year.

Overcoming many difficulties

Although there is good news from the beginning of the year and it is determined that 2020 will be a year of stable growth, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung,Director of AnhDuc Production and Services Co., Ltd., also mentioneddifficulties enterprises would face and overcome in 2020.

Accordingly, the minimum wage had increased from January 1, 2020 with an increase of 150,000 - 240,000 VND per person per month. Accordingly, the costs of salaries and social insurance are increasing. This is also one of the difficulties forthe enterprises, because the cost increases but the processing cost does not increase, the customer also reduces the price of the product.

In addition, "neighbor" markets such as Laos, Cambodia and Thailand are facing fierce competition with Vietnam in terms of labor resources and costs because the enterprises of those countries are supported, so that, for completion, enterprises of Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos have advantages over Vietnamese enterprises.

Therefore, Mr. Dung said that it was essential for enterprises to update themselves on Free Trade Agreements and determine the right investment direction in 2020. At the same time, in 2020, they determined to continue to participate in exhibition programs at home and abroad topromote products, expand exportmarkets and domestic markets to consume goods. In addition, they had set the goal for this year as the first year that the enterprise beganto build a new e-commerce system.

“We hope that with the abundant orders enterprises signed at the beginning of the year, along with the advantages from free trade agreements, will be a favorable condition for enterprises to develop production, creating a breakthrough in export in 2020,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung said.
