Lang Son: Stop clearance to do physical inspection 17 transit cargo containers

According to the representative of Unit 4, by following the direction of the National Steering Committee 389 on strictly control over the abuses of the transit policy and transit goods for smuggling, from 22/6, the unit has coordinated with Lang Son Customs to inspect goods transported or transited through Huu Nghi border gate. According to preliminary data, as of the morning of 27/6, Customs authority stopped clearance and conduct a physical inspection of 17 cargo containers.
Initially, Customs force discovered two containers containing infringing goods, in that one container, contained 96 bags of Gucci brand (it’s false, misleading to Gucci brand) and one container of undeclared cargo that was print ink, milk, ... Currently, the unit is continuing to examine the next containers.
Discussing with Customs News reporters, representatives of Huu Nghi Customs Branch (Lang Son Customs Department) said that, on 26/6, Mr. Nguyen Cong Truong, Vice-Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son, Head of Steering Committee 389 Lang Son also worked at the Huu Nghi Customs Branch in order to handle the contents that related to the inspection of transit goods from China through Vietnam to Laos and Cambodia. Accordingly, from 22/6, Unit 4 checked a number of shipments, up to this time, Huu Nghi Customs Branch coordinated with Unit 4 to check 17 declarations and discovered two declarations have signs of violating intellectual property.
Also, according to a representative of Huu Nghi Customs Branch, in order to find out the way of dealing with violated goods, the unit has sent an invitation to representatives of enterprises (owners) to come to Customs officer for working directly. However, currently, none of the enterprises in the list present at Customs officer for handling this infringing shipment.
As the Customs News has published news, in order to strictly control the abuse of transit policy and transit goods for smuggling, the National Steering Committee 389 has issued a document to direct the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, sectors to strengthen anti-smuggling from taking advantage of transit policy and goods transit.
The National Steering Committee of 389 stated that, in recent time, the competent forces such as police and Customs authorities have continuously detected many cases of illegal import prohibited goods, conditional import goods (used goods) such as auto parts, motorcycles, electromagnetic, refrigeration products,... that occurred in many provinces and cities. In fact, the subjects have used sophisticated tricks in order to escape competent forces’ notice such as drawing from the center, switching goods, goods are not transported to the border gate, breaking customs seals to disperse and hide goods.
