Following the instruction of Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh- Head of National Steering Committee 389 on strengthening measures to prevent and combat smuggling, transportation and trading of pigs and pig products of unknown origin, Lang Son has developed plans for quick and effective implementation . Accordingly, the People's Committee of Lang Son province directed the concerned units to actively monitor and understand the impact of African swine fever on Vietnam and Lang Son province.

People's Committees of border districts instruct the Steering Committee 389 at districts and related agencies to coordinate to strictly control border areas, seriously handle acts of smuggling and transportation of products from pigs of unknown right from the border area.

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee also assigned Lang Son's Customs, Border Guard and Quarantine force to strengthen the patrol, inspection and control of border gates, tracks and trails at border area to prevent and handle smuggling of pork and products from pigs.

The Market Management Department, Public Security, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Health shall intensify the inspection and handling of acts of trade, transportation and consumption of pigs and products from pigs of unknown origin , especially in the central market, slaughter places; grasp the situation of supply and demand of pork market; monitor and manage the development of the African swine fever a so as to take initiative in taking measures to prevent and fight effectively the domestic epidemic

Mr. Nguyen Cong Truong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee 389 of Lang Son said that to prevent timely and effectively the African swine fever , the competent authorities in the province are strengthening the measures to control the circulation of pork through the province. At the same time, boosting the fight against smuggling, transportation of animal and animal products (especially pig) across borders.
