Lao Bao Customs prosecutes case of illegally transporting goods and currency across border gate

VCN – On December 27, Lao Bao Border Gate Customs Branch (under Quang Tri Customs Department) issued a decision to prosecute a case for the illegal transportation of goods and currency across the border and transferred the case to the Police of Huong Hoa District.

Lao Bao Customs prosecutes case of illegally transporting goods and currency across border gate

The competent forces inspect infringing goods.

According to the local customs branch, it processed procedures for re-entry registration for a vehicle with license plate 75H-001.32 from Laos to Vietnam. This vehicle was driven by Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien.

At the entry vehicle control area, after receiving the documents presented by Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien, the branch inspected the vehicle.

During the inspection, the Customs detected two packages of goods including US$10,000, 1,736.14 grams of gold and 2,180.41 grams of silver with a total value of VND2.945 billion.

On December 29, 2021, on the basis of Decision 02/QD-VKSHH dated December 28, 2021 of the People's Procuracy of Huong Hoa district, the Lao Bao border gate Customs Branch transferred the criminal case file to the Investigation Police Agency, Huong Hoa District Police.

On December 31, 2021, the Huong Hoa District Police received all infringing goods of the case for investigation.
