According to the People’s Committee of Hanoi city, through the analysis and assessment of tax debts, land use fees and land rental fees of organizations and individuals in the city in 2017, the city urged to collect more than VND 12.7 trillion of tax debts from previous years. In which, over 90 day debts tended to gradually decrease month by month. As of 31st December 2017, the less than 90 day tax debts fell by VND 4,132 billion (equivalent to 22%) over the same period in 2016

In 2018, the situation of tax debts, fees, land use fee and land rental fees of organizations and individuals in the city is still a big challenge. Thus, in order to continue the unified implementation of measures to urge the collection of tax debts, land use fees and land rental fess in the city, the Hanoi People’s Committee has requested Hanoi Tax Department to analyse the domestic tax debts as of 31st December 2017, thereby assigning targets of debt collection to each district, town and commune in the city and developing key tasks and program of debt management in 2018, ensuring the rate of debt of total State revenue to not surpass 5 %.

The People’s Committee has requested that Hanoi Tax Department must continue measures to urge the debt collection and tax enforcement from the beginning of 2018 and be a focal point to summarize and assess the tax debt management and collection of each areas.

In addition, the Tax Department must review and standardize debt data and completely handle debts waiting for revision and settlement, and debts of enterprises which had left their registered business addresses, restructure debts for appropriate collection measures, and ensure the full revenue to the State budget. Especially, the Department must coordinate the Financial Department and Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant units in the handling of debts related to land.

Notably, the People’s Committee has requested Hanoi Tax Department to analyse the business and production, financial capacity, cash flow of units in tax debts and land use fees and land rental fees in order to urge, encourage and remove difficulties for tax payers in accordance with the law .

It is known that earlier, the People’s Committee of Hanoi city has decided to establish a Steering Committee for collection of tax debts and land use fees and land rental fees in the city, headed by Deputy Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan.
