More than 14 tonnes of smuggled rice valued at nearly VND 130 million

VCN - The leader of Cha Lo Customs Branch (Quang Binh Customs Department) said that the unit is completing a dossier of case of exporting illegally more than 14 tonnes of rice worth nearly VND 130 million to transfer to the Quang Binh Customs Department for proposing Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee handle in accordance with its competence.

At 2:30 PM on April 8, at Cha Lo Integrated Control Station (Quang Binh), Cha Lo Customs Branch (Quang Binh Customs Department) worked with Cha Lo International Border Station to inspect goods of Nghia Canh Trading Service Co., Ltd. (located in Dong Le town, Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province) led by Tran Thi Canh as Director.

The forces conducted physical inspection of the entire export shipment of Nghia Canh Company including seven grocery items of all kinds with total weight of more than 27 tonnes, transported on two trucks which have license plates respectively: 73C-10433 and 73C-10499.

Exhibits of the case

Through inspection, besides declared items, competent forces also discovered 14,575 kg of sticky rice, 18 bags of Phuoc Thanh 64 rice (450 kg), 235 bags of Hang Phong Lien Huong Ky Van ordinary rice (5,875 kg) and 165 bags of Thao Tien sticky rice (8,250 kg)

Leaders of Cha Lo Customs Branch said ] ordinary rice and sticky rice belonging to sub-heading 1006.30 are subject to an export suspension (according to Notice No. 121/TB-VPCP dated March 23, 2020 on the Prime Minister’s conclusion).

A representative of Nghia Canh Company also admitted the act of exporting more rice to Laos for earning profit.
