Total derivatives transaction accounts by the end of June 2018 doubled those by the end of 2017.

Accordingly, transaction activity has grown strongly in all criteria with transaction volumes of following months being higher than previous months. The derivative market has become an attractive investment channel for investors in the context of movement of base market.

According to HNX, the average transaction volume and value (according to contract value) were 45,767 contracts/session and VND 4,660 billion/session respectively. By the end of June 2018, the volume of Open Interest (OI) gained 11,812 contracts, up by 46.24% compared to the end of 2017.

Total derivative transaction accounts by the end of June 2018 were 35,275 accounts, doubling those by the end of 2017 (equivalent to 1.72% of total transaction accounts of the securities market).

However, the transactions mainly concentrated on domestic individual investors, accounting for 98.34% of the total transactions, the domestic organization investors accounted for only 1.54%, mainly on self-business activities of stock companies. Foreign investors accounted for only 0.12%.
