SSC and VIOD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), officially marking the cooperation between the two sides to support the professional activities of member of Board of Directors.
According to Ha Thu Thanh, Chairwoman of VIOD's Board of Directors, the signing marks an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between VIOD and the SSC to improve good corporate governance practices in the market.
Thanh expects the cooperation between the two sides will contribute to boosting the effective management activities of companies in the market, attracting investors and thereby enhancing the position of the Vietnamese stock market.
On the basis of the MoU, the SSC and VIOD coordinated to build and connect the network of members of the Vietnam’s Board of Directors through VIOD's events, using advanced and awareness management programmes for the market.
Specifically, the cooperation is implemented in many fields, including: issuing guidelines on the best corporate governance practices applicable to public companies and listed companies such as hand books, tool sets, research articles; participating, appearing on public forums to promote the best corporate governance practices including conferences, seminars and other mass events; organising events related to corporate governance; and Vietnam’ representatives participating in ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) programme carried out annually in the region.
