According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, in December 2020, more than 30 enterprises across the country exportedmedical masks with the quantity of nearly 71 million, a sharp decrease of 59% compared tothe export volume in November.

Thus, in 2020, Vietnamese enterprises exported more than 1.37 billion medical masks.

After the period of application of export licensing regime for medical masks for the prevention and control of Covid-19 (according to Resolution 20/ NQ-CP dated February 28, 2020 of the Government), the export of medical masks has resumed since May under Resolution No.60/NQ-CP dated April 29, 2020 of the Government.

In May, the whole country exported more than 181 million medical masks and hit a record of 236 million masks in June.

However, in July and August, the export quantity of medical mask sharply dropped after Vietnam had asecond wave of Covid-19.

However, since September, the export volume of medical masks tended to surge again and maintained an increase in September, October and November.
