New Party Central Committee to have approx. 200 members

Nguyen Hong Dien, deputy head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education |
It is anticipated that the new Party Central Committee will feature 180 fully-fledged members and up to 20 alternate members, Dien outlined to the conference.
Moreover, the Party’s Political Bureau will feature between 17 and 19 members, equivalent to the current 12th tenure, while the Party’s next Secretariat is set to have between 12 and 13 members, he said.
According to the official, new members of the 13th Party Central Committee fall into three age categories, those under 50s, those in their 50s, and those above 60. Those under 50 will make up between 15% and 20% of the total, while those in their 50s will represent roughly 70%.
The Party Central Committee has agreed to raise the number of members based in key localities and areas, with priority to be given to young, female, and minority members.
Dien also warned about the dangers of the spread of fake news by hostile forces in the lead up to the National Party Congress, aimed at causing social disturbances.
The Communist Party of Vietnam is scheduled to hold its 13th National Congress in early 2021 to elect the country’s key posts for the subsequent five years.Related News
