On 1st March 2018, deploying automated system for Customs management at Phuoc Long ICD

According to Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, implementing Decision 2722/QD-BTC dated 29th December 2017 of the Ministry of Finance on piloting the automated system for Customs management for imported and exported goods, goods in transit at seaports, and international civil airports, the department has officially implemented the Decision at Phuoc Long I Port Co., Ltd (ICD 1) on 1st March 2018.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh Customs Department and Phuoc Long Port Co. Ltd., has already prepared for the deployment.
Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has proposed to the business community to carry out Customs procedures on the automated system in accordance with guidance in Decision 2722/QD-BTC.
Previously, on 2nd January 2018, the Department piloted the automated system for Customs management at Lotus Port (managed by Sai Gon Customs Branch Zone 3) and SP-ITC port (managed by Sai Gon Customs Branch Zone 1).

By applying this system, import and export businesses can minimize paper dossier when exchanging with shipping lines as well as the Customs authority. Thereby, reducing the burden in carrying out declaration procedures and accelerating the clearance time and saving cost.
The system has helped the Customs to closely and promptly manage and supervise the process of movement, change and status of goods in and out of ports and warehouses, as well as transportation between areas under Customs supervision, reducing costs and time for declarants. Therefore, it also strengthens the management, supervision and enhances compliance by the businesses and prevents trade fraud, smuggling and ensures national security.
