At the Customs-Business Dialogue Conference held by Hai Duong Customs Branch (Hai Phong Customs Department), some businesses reflected costs related to fees charged by shipping lines and port enterprises.

A representative of Tinh Loi Garment Company (Hai Duong) said that, besides the sharp increase of sea freight costs, the costs required to be paid to shipping lines and port enterprises for import and export shipments have also increased

“For imported goods, we are bearing 12 types of fees. For export goods, enterprises bear about 18 types of fees to be paid to shipping lines, shipping agents and ports. Each shipping line, the agent collects them differently. Each 40-foot container costs from VND4 million to VND8 million, double the cost of transportation from the factory to the port. The total cost of our business per month is about VND5 billion, so it increases the production and business costs of the enterprise,” a representative of Tinh Loi Garment Company said.

Therefore, the enterprise expressed their wish that the state management authority effective management measures for the collection of fees by shipping lines, shipping agents and publicly listing on the electronic portal of the state management authority in order to facilitate import-export enterprises in capturing information.
