Prior to the expanded G7 Summit, the host country of Canada had held ministerial conferences and meetings with social, scientific, business and youth organizations for consultation on issues related to the Summit’s agenda.
The focus of the agenda is on gender equality and women empowerment, investment in inclusive growth, preparations to adapt to job placements in future, cooperation to respond to climate change and protect oceans, and the building of a more peaceful and safer world.
The expanded G7 Summit is set to take place in Charlevoix, Quebec, on June 8-9, seeing participation of leaders of the world’s seven advanced economies, namely Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US, and invited guests, including Vietnam, Argentina, Bangladesh, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Nam Phi, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Seychelles, and some international organizations.
The G7 Summit brings G7 leaders, ministers and policy makers together annually to achieve a consensus and set trends for most challenging global issues.
With its second time of being invited to the event, Vietnam proves itself as a prestigious nation on the international arena and shows its capability to devise solutions and ideas to address a wide range of global issues, including matters of its major concern such as climate change response.
