PM Phuc underlined the point that relevant agencies will oversee the Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company's operations to prevent it from causing any of environmental incidents.

The facility will be closed if it commits the similar mistake again.

The Government will clarify the responsibility of and strictly punish organisations and inpiduals involved in the incident, the cabinet leader added.

PM Phuc also clarified several issues of concern to voters, including the concept “the Government designing and spurring growth”.

Regarding the new-style rural area building programme, Phuc said the Government gives top priority to the programme and provides possible resources for it.

Regarding voters’ proposal on upgrading the city’s transport infrastructure, particularly its railway, he said this conforms with the target of spurring the city’s socio-economic development and enhancing connectivity between the city and other localities.

He shared voters’ worries about food safety and hygiene, saying the cabinet will take heed to combating unsafe and poor quality food by intensifying inspections and strictly punishing any violations.

The government leader also asked Hai Phong forces to continue increasing vigilance to protect the national sea and islands that are a sacred and integral territorial part of the nation.

At the meeting, voters voiced their support for the Prime Minister’s determination to build a government which creates favorable conditions for better lives, stays incorruptible, and serves the people.

"The government’s ultimate goal is to provide jobs for the people, increase productivity and creativity, protect the environment, create social fairness, act promptly, and be held accountable," he said. This spirit should be thoroughly grasped from central to local levels so as to make full use of Vietnam’s limited resources," he said.

He suggested the central government should provide momentum for development and act aggressively for the people.

It’s more important that local administrations and the whole political system should thoroughly acquire this spirit and act to remove barriers so that the people and business can develop production and contribute to the country. The government should be incorruptible, dedicated, and transparent. It should serve the people instead of harassing them. Administrations at all levels should serve the people better, he added

Prime Minister Phuc put out measures to accelerate administrative reform and reduce costs for enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized ones. He also underscored the importance of human resource development, citing education and training as foundations for stronger development.
