According to the Ministry of Finance, CPI in the first two months of 2018 increased 2.9%. In order to achieve the inflation control target with the average CPI in 2018 of 4.0%, the Ministry of Finance requests the localities to: closely monitor the supply and demand, the market, prices, and take measures to ensure the balance of supply and demand in order to stabilize the market, especially essential commodities for consumers' demand, and especially in the following months (especially for food and foodstuffs ...) to promptly instruct and take measures to avoid unreasonable price increases and unpredictable information, causing instability in the market.
The Ministry of Finance has requested in the first quarter of 2018 not to increase prices of commodities and services under the management of the People's Councils or People's Committees of provinces or cities (health examination and treatment services, environmental sanitation services, vehicle keeping, sightseeing, tours, accommodation, business premises for lease in markets and trade centers).
The Ministry of Finance also requested that the price management of commodities under the competency of the People's Councils and People's Committees of the provinces and cities under the Central Government must closely follow the direction of the head of the Steering Committee for price control and ministries and sectors.

In particular, strengthening the management and inspection of the compliance of legal provisions on prices; strictly controlling the price listing and selling goods in line with listed prices for goods with high demands after Tet. Especially transport, food and drink, sightseeing, tourist services, bicycle and car care services must be focused.
At the same time, enhancing inspection of provisions on traffic safety, directing transport enterprises to operate well in order to meet the travel demand of the people during the festivals in the beginning of the year; requesting transport enterprises to announce and publicize the charge rates in strict accordance with the current regulations.
Localities also need to intensify the propaganda on management and operation, and limit the wrong information causing confusion for consumers and destabilizing the market.
