Quang Nam Customs seizes smuggled fireworks

At 9.00 am on 17 January 2017, at the control station at the Nam Giang border gate, while coordinating to handle the entry procedures and inspection and supervision for a bus number plate: 43B-00133 driven by Nguyen Ngoc Nhan (residing at Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city) from Laos to Vietnam, the Customs forces and Border Guard at Nam Giang border gate checked the luggage of a passengers named Nguyen Viet Thang, born in 1984 (residing at Xuan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province) and discovered a large amount of 10 firework sets, 17 firework tubes and 17 packages of firecrackers with a total weight of about 25kgs.
It was considered that this was a violation so the Customs Branch collaborated with the Border Guard to arrest the passenger, the bus and exhibits for further investigation and settlement under the law.

Earlier, at 14.00 on 16 January 2017, the Customs Branch also cooperated with the Border Guard at Nam Giang Border Gate conducted to exam a bus Lao number plate 1459 driven by Phan Minh Man and Nguyen Van Tu (co-residing at Area 3, Ai Nghia townlet, Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province) from Laos to Vietnam, and discovered 10 firework sets of all kinds with a total weight of 14kgs, hidden in the bus.
