Quang Ninh: Discovery a barge transports coal dust without document
A ship transport 600 tons of violated bauxite tailings |
At 11 PM on 18th April 2017, in the basin of Hon Gai, Hon Gai port Customs Branch coordinated with Anti-smuggling and Offenses handling Division (Quang Ninh Customs Department) to inspect a towboat of 4 barges that have suspicious signs of being transported unknown coal through Customs control area.
After checking dossiers and documents, the working group released the cargo of 3 barges because of having lawful dossiers and temporarily seized 1 barge that had no legal dossiers and documents to prove its legal origin.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan – captain of the towboat with registered license QN – 5987 to push 4 barges transporting coal. In that 1 barge has registered license QN – 5232 transported coal without lawful dossiers and documents.
According to Inspection Certificate granted by Cargo Inspection and Forwarding Company, the cargo on the barge of QN – 5232 was 445.6 tons of coal dust 7A, Ak quality = 49,85%, Vk = 6,8%, QK = 3910 Kcal. Customs force made a record to hold in custody for handling violated goods.
As Customs News reported, on the same day, at the co-ordinates 20055.595N and 107011.667E, in Hon Dau area of Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Province, Mobile Control Team under Customs Enforcement Team No.2 (Quang Ninh Customs Department) approached and inspected for HD-0466 ship from Ha Long to Hai Phong.
Through the inspection, the Customs forces detected on the ship transporting 589.4 tons of bauxite tailings, and the value of the smuggled goods was 23,936 million vnd.
