Quang Ninh: Strictly control goods crossing pontoon bridge km3+4 alongside pandemic prevention

Quang Ninh Steering Committee 389 suggested the People's Committee and Steering Committee 389of Mong Cai city focus on directing member agencies, units and forces to strengthen inspection, supervision, and strict control of import goods through the pontoon bridge km3+4, associated with Covid-19 pandemic prevention under the direction of all levels, sectors and localities based on functions, tasks and management areas.
At the same time, applying professional measures, increasing information collection, grasping situation, promptly implementing measures to prevent and combat smuggling and trade fraud, counterfeiting and illegal transport of goods across border.
Steering Committee 389 Quang Ninh also requested the heads of units and competent forces to strengthen discipline in the task performance to promptly detect, rectify and strictly handle violations of customs officials and soldiers who lack a sense of responsibility, loose management and let people commit violations.
Previously, on February 22, the Chinese Trade Department announced it would allow the export of Chinese goods to Vietnam through pontoon bridge km3+4 on the Ka Long River in Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh province.
On February 23, at the pontoon bridge, customs procedures were carried out for importing the first shipment from China to Vietnam with a total of 24 tonnes of goods.
With the implementation of clearance for additional import and export goods, it will make an important contribution to promoting the development of import and export activities across border areas and help promote import-export activities through Mong Cai.
