On June 21, the Customs Enforcement Team, under Quang Tri Customs Department, coordinated with local agencies to arrest six suspects residing in Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri province, for possession and use of drugs, and seized 64 synthetic drug pills.

According to the local customs department, the suspects bought drugs from Laos to Vietnam for illegal possession and use. This is a complicated area, causing concern for local residents. The arrest played great significance in warning the ethnic minorities about the harmful effects of drug abuse, contributing to maintaining security and order in the locality.

Earlier, the local police and the Customs Enforcement Team arrested one suspect for the illegal transportation of 66,000 pills of synthetic drugs.

This is the cross-border drug-related crime ring with the huge quantity. The suspects operate in sophisticated manner. They gather drugs in secret locations across the border, and transport drugs in the dark of night into Vietnam.

Currently, the two cases are under investigation.
