The first case, in the evening of 10th March 2017, at the riverside border of Vietnam (Milestone 1367 (2) +500), after receiving information from the public about a small iron ferry without control plate transporting smuggled Chinese eggs to Vietnam, the Joint Control Team No. 1 including Customs force and border guard forces (under Customs Enforcement Team No. 1) deployed forces in order to check and seize the shipment of 12,000 chicken eggs (some crushed, smelly and rotten fruits) originated from China. The shipment was transported by Nguyen Thi Nguyet (born in 1965) 5, Hai Yen Ward, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province) as the owner and the driver.
At the time of inspection, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet didn’t present any invoice or document to prove for legal origin of the shipment. The subject claimed that she was hired to transport the shipment to the consignees at Hai Phong (there was no information about name or address of the owner) to get the transport fee which is 500,000 vnd.
At the same day, Joint Inspection Team No. 1 continued to detect and detain a total of 6,000 eggs (unknown origin) in the area behind Ka Long Market, Zone 5, Ka Long Ward , TP. Mong Cai, Quang Ninh province. The shipment was unclaimed because the subject ran away when functional forces appeared.
