According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, implementing Plan 4098/KH-TCHQ on Project of goods management and supervision at seaports and airports from August 15, 2017, the pilot projects have been implemented at Tan Vu port (Hai Phong).
The General Department of Vietnam Customs assessed that the shipping lines, shipping agents, and forwarders quite a well-implemented declaration of Manifest and relevant documents via National Single Window.
However, in order to effectively implement the project, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested shipping lines, shipping agents, and forwarders to complete the information provision of dossiers of ships exit and entry in line with regulation time; To overcome cases of dossiers with incorrect data which were responded and guided by the General Department of Vietnam Customs for the re-declaration but they were untimely re-declared; To overcome cases of some businesses declared inaccurate information in Manifest and Bill of lading.
The General Department of Vietnam Customs said that the above obstacles caused difficulties for port operators in receiving information for goods loading and discharge in and out of port and affected the time of receiving goods of import/export businesses.

After nearly 1 month piloting the project at Hai Phong (the end of 11 September), there were 3 businesses (Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company- managing Tan Vu Branch, Nam Phat Logistics Co., Ltd and Dinh Vu Port Development and Investment Joint Stock Company) connected to the management and supervision system at seaport and supervised over 86,000 containers in/out of port. The initial results showed that the management and supervision system at seaport facilitated businesses effectively enhanced management of Customs and relevant agencies and created the basis for expanding at seaports throughout the country.
