According to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389, recently, the situation of production and business of medical alcohol of low quality, without registration certificate for circulation in the market and unclear labeling has caused poisoning, even death due to drinking of medical alcohol.

Recently, on 30 January, the competent agencies in Ha Noi City inspected Viet Long Medical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd (located at Dinh Cong, Hoang Mai, Hanoi), detected and seized a large amount of unsafe medical alcohol.

In order to protect trade name for businesses and create transparent business environment and protect consumers' rights and health, the Standing Office has requested the Standing Agencies of provincial and municipal 389 Steering Committees to instruct competent agencies to focus on basic review and control rigorously the production and business of medical alcohol in their areas, and to take management measures in accordance with provisions.

Thousands of bottles of imported alcohol held in custody

Along with that, the competent agencies need to inspect and handle strictly violations in the production and trading of medical alcohol of low quality, without registration certificate for circulation in the market and unclear labeling.

In addition, propagandizing the harmful effects of fake medical alcohol of low quality, and mobilizing the people not to cover up or engage in violations, and denounce violations.
